In an interview with MTV News, Pattie Mallette reflects on her son's transition since 'Never Say Never.'
It seems like just yesterday Beliebers were donning their 3-D glasses to watch a floppy-haired, 16-year-old Justin Bieber navigating newfound fame in "Never Say Never." But as his mother Pattie Mallette recently reminded MTV News, it was two long, "crazy" years ago that the Biebs first graced thebig screen.
When MTV News caught up with Mallette at the red-carpet premiere premiere of "Believe" earlier this month, she looked back on what she calls a "whirlwind" couple years since 2011's "Never Say Never."
"It's really fun watching him grow and transition," Mallette told MTV News guest correspondent Debby Ryan. "It's just been this crazy whirlwind, and I'm just along for the ride."

But Justin isn't the only one lovestruck. Mallette shared that one of the "most amazing things" about her son's fame is all of the Beliebers that show her love on social media. "There's, like, 3 million Twitter followers who call me mom," she said.
And while all the mother-son bonding was sweet, we had to cut through all that tenderness to ask the tough question on everyone's minds: What does she think of that dirty stache?
"I'm not a big fan," she admitted. "I'm hoping he'll grow out of it."
